Dr. Philip R Jen Kin

Meet Doctor Philip Jen Kin . . .

Doctor Jen Kin went to college at UCLA, and then attended UCLA School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1974 with honors. Up until 2005 he had been a part-time clinical professor at the dental school since 1976. He taught graduate dental students who were doing one or two year post doctorate training in cosmetic and implant dentistry. Doctor Jen Kin continues to passionately pursue continuing education in dentistry, and is currently spending much study in early orthodontics, and TMJ therapy.

Dr. Jen Kin began this dental practice in 1975 and has expanded size, added staff and doctors throughout the decades. The practice now has three partners, Dr. Philip Jen Kin, Dr. Robert Miyasaki and Dr. Andrew Chin. The knowledge and experience of the three partners has created a dental practice that offers excellence in all areas of dentistry.

Doctor Jen Kin is a family man and has been married to his wife Shirley for forty years. They have two children, a son Christopher, and a daughter, Allison. Chris is a dentist practicing in Salinas, California. Allison is attending graduate school in Occupational Therapy.

Dr. Jen Kin is an avid outdoorsman and athlete. He loves to cycle, and usually logs over 4,000 miles a year. This keeps him at his physical best for his practice and patients. He, also, has a passion for guitars, fly fishing, and photography, He believes that working hard and playing hard can compliment each other. Dr. Jen Kin says, “Maintain your passion in life in order to experience it to the fullest”.

Dr. Jen Kin is an Elder in his church in Westminster, CA and travels overseas regularly to do mission dental work in China and Vietnam. He believes that we are blessed inorder to be a blessing to others.

Dr. Robert M Miyasaki

Meet Doctor Robert Miyasaki . . .

“I am dedicated to you and your family’s dental health and well being.” I believe our office offers the highest standards in service, materials and technology. I have a passion for science and art which dentistry is an exquisite blending of the two.”

Dr. Miyasaki is a Southern Cal native, and as a child lived in England and Japan for a total of four years. He attended Whittier College and Cal State Long Beach for his BS in Zoology, and UCLA for his DDS degree which was awarded in 1986. He was an instructor at the School of Dentistry for 8 years in lecture, lab and clinical courses. He served on its admissions committee for four years. He is an active member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Harbor Dental Society. He is an executive board member for the Cal State Long Beach Alumni Association. He serves as a mentor to pre-health professions students at Long Beach as well as a mentor for 4th year dental students from UCLA School of Dentistry.

Dr. Miyasaki participates in school screenings at elementary schools as part of the ADA (American Dental Association) program to identify kids in need of dental care, and getting them to various dental clinics in the school’s area. He volunteers for the Head Start program as part of the health team for underprivileged preschoolers in the Long Beach area. He also participates in career days for the 6-12 grades giving demos on materials and techniques to spark an interest in science and healthcare careers.

Dr. Miyasaki met and married his wife Cathy in 1975 and is busy with their son Dillon in Little League and music. He likes to surf the local spots and has many skydives at Perris, CA. He and his family enjoy tennis, skiing and being at home and in the garden.

Dr. Andrew W Chin

Meet Doctor Andrew W Chin . . .

Dr. Chin received a Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology at the University of California, Davis. He is a graduate of UCLA School of Dentistry (Class of 1996). After graduation he continued his education at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There he became chief resident and completed the two-year general practice residency program. He obtained extensive training in Esthetic Dentistry, Implantology (the study of placement and restoring dental implants), and working on medically compromised patients. He also had the opportunity to publish an article in a renowned dental journal and present it at local and national dental conferences.

Currently Dr. Chin is an active member of Harbor, California, and American Dental Societies. He is also a member of the Academy of Osseointegration and a credentialed member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, where he continues to advance with the changes in the field of Implantology. Dr. Chin has taught at UCLA School of Dentistry and the Dental Materials Course to senior students at the Cerritos College Hygiene Program. He continues to serve on the Advisory Board for the School of Hygiene.

Dr. Chin enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Stephanie, and daughters, Hailey, Elizabeth, and Kathryn. He enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his growing family. ”Our mouth is connected to the body and I would love to help others be able to achieve a higher level of living. I believe I can do this because; we are extremely blessed to have all of the treatment choices we have today. These are some of the many reasons Dentistry is very exciting to me.”
